NORWALK, CT – Event Marketer Magazine and the Event Marketing Institute have confirmed attendees representing aggregate spending on events of over $2 billion for ConnexLive: Event Technology Insights, a hosted-buyer event that will take place August 16-18 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown hotel.
ConnexLive employs a hosted-buyer model to facilitate targeted face-to-face meetings in private settings between pre-screened buyers and sponsors. Participation is by invitation only and is limited to highly-qualified executives to ensure a productive, relevant and value-driven experience.
This is the third hosted-buyer event produced by Red 7 Media, the parent company of Event Marketer and the Event Marketing Institute, and the first one to target the corporate event sector. The event’s focus is on the use of technology as it applies to events and trade shows, and buyer-attendees represent leading Fortune 500 brands and some of the largest event agencies – both of which are actively engaged in evaluating technology solutions that can improve the performance and productivity of their face-to-face programs.
“We know from speaking with our readers that they have been frustrated with the time required to understand and evaluate all the different technologies out there that can be used for events, so we created
this unique event format to enable them to demonstrate, and compare and contrast all kinds of technology solutions in a very efficient and focused way,” said Event Marketer General Manager Dan Hanover. More…
ConnexLive uses a proven format that enables busy executives to explore, collaborate, and compare solutions and potential partners in a highly structured two-day period. Participation as a host or guest at a ConnexLive event significantly reduces the time and cost associated with flights, conference calls, meetings and emails that typically surround supplier/solution sourcing and research.
Confirmed buyer-attendees include senior executives who are planning and budgeting for technology purchases at Fortune 500 brands and the country’s leading event agencies (each of which is charged with sourcing technology solutions for their brand-side clients). Following is a sample of the more than 40 buy-side attendees who will attend ConnexLive:

These companies create a range of event programs spanning B-to-B and consumer events, including shareholder meetings, public events, proprietary events and trade shows, virtual events, and more. Sponsors represent a range of solutions providers, including data capture, attendee engagement and tracking, photo activation, interactive technologies, event measurement, and event management solutions.
ConnexLive sponsors are provided with a private meeting area to conduct their meetings with guests. Each sponsor is guaranteed a minimum of 10 private meetings. Guests seeking solutions providers are vetted through a screening process to ensure that they are decision makers with plans to purchase in the categories represented by sponsor companies. Buyers and sponsors are matched according to mutual interest and compatible business needs and are provided with a complete meeting schedule/itinerary and dossier on their meeting partners prior to arriving at the event.
“The hosted-buyer concept is a proven one for us, and it’s especially relevant for a topic like technology, which requires focused attention and hands-on demonstration,” according to Kerry Smith, President & CEO of Red 7 Media. “We think that’s why the buyers we have recruited for this event are so enthusiastic about participating – because this kind of event enables them to focus on understanding what our sponsors’ technologies do, and be able to discuss how their solutions could apply to their unique situations and needs. In fact, due to the overwhelming response from buyers, we’ve closed registration for any additional buyers as we’ve reached our attendee limit – a good problem to have, but also a positive sign that event planners are seeking new solutions, and budgeting for them.”
Sponsorship opportunities are still available to event technology companies seeking to secure guaranteed meetings with event buyers. For more information visit www.connexevent.com or contact Kelly Lacey at (203) 262-6471 or Anna Lawler at (203) 852-5681.
The next ConnexLive event targeting the event industry will take place September 13-15 at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead, Atlanta. ConnexLive:Agency Ops will bring together operations executives from event agencies and leading suppliers of event services for a similar private-meeting event.
