‘Best Events’ Brand to Merge with Event Marketer Magazine
Move provides special events venues and suppliers access to national event buyers

NORWALK, CT, April 6, 2011 -- Access Intelligence announced today the merger of its Best Events franchise into the company’s Event Marketer magazine group. Best Events provides information and interactive resources and tools to special event planners in several major U.S. markets. Event Marketer reaches corporate event planners at Fortune 1000 companies who plan large-scale events nationally.

“It’s become clear that our venue and event services advertisers want to reach beyond the planners they already know and instead connect with planners outside their local areas,” says Kerry Smith, president of Access Intelligence’s Red 7 Media group. “The move to align our Best Events assets into our Event Marketer magazine franchise will provide our customers access to a new and lucrative audience of planners who are planning their events from afar and need information about local venues and event services across the country.”

Access Intelligence’s Red 7 Media group is the largest creator of content, events and online resources for the event industry, with its Event Marketer, Event Design, EXPO and Best Events brands spanning virtually every major event segment. As part of the integration, Best Events’ annual Venues directory will be distributed to a national audience of corporate event buyers via Event Marketer magazine. In addition, VenuesOnline.com, the online venue search and booking tool, which provides event planners with detailed information, videos, floorplans, and booking tools for more than 5,000 U.S. venues, will now be integrated across all of Access Intelligence’s event media assets.

A first step toward connecting Best Events advertisers with the corporate event market kicks off next month at the Event Marketing Summit in Chicago (May 16-18), where attendees will see a new Venues area on the show floor where venues will showcase their facilities to more than 1,000 national corporate planners and event agency executives at such companies as Cisco, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, and hundreds more. As a sign that the strategy is resonating with customers, the allotted space for venues is nearly sold out.

“There are many avenues for venues to reach local planners in their immediate areas, but there are few if any that enable venues to also reach national planners. We’ve heard loud and clear from our customers that they want to reach beyond those they know, and because we have the largest community of planners for corporate events, trade shows, and special events, we can provide access across our network of online, in-person and print products that no one else can match,” says Smith.

The Event Marketing Summit (www.eventmarketer.com/summit) is the largest annual gathering of corporate event marketing executives and the top event agencies.
